Happy September! I'm a little sad to see the summer go, seeing as it was probably the best one I've ever had.  Also, Autumn and Winter don't generally tend to agree with me, but as long as I have Heineken, red wine and Absinthe, I think I'll just about survive, hooray!

How did everyone's break from university/school/college/etc go? Anything exciting happen? I'm going to stick a bunch of photos in this space so I can look back when I'm back in the routine and go "yeah...that was awesome".

Actually it's been a great since about...March? HERE'S WHY!

I went to AMSTERDAM in March! And am planning a second visit this year, sometime in November; there were cats, Heineken, payable women, and naughty substances. I learnt that very potent hash is VERY BAD. But makes for good anecdotes.



The depression of turning 20 was brightened by many enjoyable alcohol-fuled celebrations! We had a Burlesque-themed night at the Sugar Mill and watched Beatrice win the drag off at the Factory. Gay bars in Stoke aren't that bad at all!


I had many many many wonderful times reliving my school days with the school bunch; Lydia, Lara, TJ etc. I miss seeing them every day, but I guess it makes the times we DO have togther all the more special. *puke* but no, seriously, we had a blast at Lara's house, and our pathetic attempts and BBQs, camping and general fire making. Beer makes it better.


All the drunkenly fantastic times with college and school folk alike at Devil's Night, Harry's Bar, Rock City, The Suagr Mill, etc etc etc. Some of the best nights ever, rolling in when the birds start singing, waking up still drunk on god knows who's sofa. Excellent.


Me and Maddio went to see Voltaire! And Joe Black supported! Seriously one of the best nights of my life. I met some amazing people I'll never forget! The sooner I get to go back and do it all again, the better, we stayed in the Purple Turtle 'til the wee hours of the morning, drinking wine and dancing with pretty goth people, the wandered around Camden singing "Chicken Man".


Me and the rest of the Bijoux Burlesque Belles did one hell of a show at Eddie's! I enjoyed every last minute of this show, and the night out afterwards! We were all glowing for weeks afterwards and we're now working on our Halloween show. I absolutely love these girls to bits.


Rebellion 2011, was, fucking, brillo pads. I'm pretty sure I spent the entire time drunk. And I've been ill since the day I came home...I believe that is the sign of a good festival. I totally saw Captain Sensible.


I went to see Evelyn Evelyn at the Edinburgh Fringe! There was also a benefit gig at the Forest Cafe afterwards where Amanda, Jason and many special guests performed. Seriously, it was musical orgasm for me (and possibly just a regular orgasm when I found myself face to face with Jason Webley).



I went to see Jason Webley in Manchester and London. So I'd have seen him not once, not twice, but thrice in the space of two weeks...I'm NOT stalking him. It's such a shame he won't be back for a long while. He's an amazing performer and such a nice guy (who we got to hang out with after his Manc show yesss). Ah, my favourite musician and love of my life, one day we shall meet again! The London show was an...interesting night, ended up getting very drunk, meeting some pretty cool people and staying up 'til 6AM in Clapham drinking wine and singing songs. Every night would be like that if I had my own way. But seriously, some of the best nights of my life, these were.

Right, I haven't had much chance to do any recreational art this summer, I'm trying to sqeeze a spot of drawing in between working on several projects, my Burlesque/Cabaret acts, my stupid job and seeing friends/family. Sorry for bombarding people's inboxes (those who watch my scrap book too).

Oh christ! This has been the best summer of my life! I went to Rebellion, I got a decent job, I went to see Voltaire, Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley and had many many enjoyable times with the Burlesque troop, I've probably spent more time drunk than I have sober, got my cabaret act together, I've met some amazing people. I'm a little sad to back in the routine now.

Andreas Christoficus....well Andy Cristofi, or Mandy, Andex, Fanando, he has many names... He's been a very close friend of mine since year 7 in high school, when he made me and Lydia collide with each other doing the goose run. Yes RUN. You RUN like GEESE. Anyway, his art is fucking amazing and I've always been jealous of his talents. Also, he looks like a mix between Johnny Depp and Voltaire.

Ash! He's the Moss-alike brother of one of my best friends, Bex, and never ceases to amuse me! In terms of art, I love the quirky humour and the gaming-inspired style! Also, he's a fun drunk with a brilliant laugh and good taste in all sorts of media!




BEXICLES, sister of the young man above and one of my best friends since the beginning of college in 2007! She's simply the best chocolate lady in da werld...ever. The amount of in-jokes and ridiculous references to Jerry Jackson, Metal Gear, Philosophy and god knows what else! I've always admired her creativity, especially in clothes and CAKES!!!! SHE MAKES DAMN GOOD CAKES!!!! (see the one that says Fink...that was for me!) I love the music poster she did! I see it in her room, every day when I come to stalk her.




Steve! Old friend and former manfriend of mine. Brilliant artist and always made me jealous of the way he could draw people with such stylised precision. He taught me a thing or two about photoshop and just art in general, and to this day I'm very greatful for that. I haven't seen him in a long time, but every time I do see him, his art seems to have improved further still! Also a good photographer wouldn'tcha know?

Jasmine! I met her at a zombie walk I went on last year, which was brillos! I then added her on DeviantART and kept running into her at various clubs and pubs in my home town, and we'd just kind of yell "YOU FROM DEVINATART" at each other! But she's awesome at many things; hair, clothes and just being a general much-needed breath of fresh air to the rut that is alternative culture!

Davey Wavey Davey Davey Doo Dah! Yeah...Davey Joe...he's awesome. I met him through Myspace a few years ago, and I met him...he gave me a curly wurly. Gemma! I met her through an old group of friends. She was in the same college class as some of them. I don't know her very well but well enough to know that she's a lovely girl with a lot of artistic talent!




Kez! Anyone who meets Kez instantly knows he's a lovely, genuine guy! Glad to still have him as a friend! I haven't seen much art from him in a long time, but the talent never disappears, so get workin' Kez!!! I'd love to see more of his stuff!




DAN! ME NAME'S DONALD (well his name's Dan, or Slow)! This guy actually believes in tartan paint... Slow was a very good friend of mine back in like, 2006 - 2009. Good, good times, lots of parties and happenings at the skate park. Simpler times i reckon. He's the kind of guy, that although appears to lack in the common sense area, is so good at art, he makes the rest of his college mates cry when they see his work. Seriously. It's not fair. Stop it Dan...actually don't you need to make a career out of what you're good at, and not selling tartan paint.

Holly Wolly, my partner in Metal Gear Solid-related, roleplay and sexual frustration....nnrrrrggh. I've been friends with her since college; we had many many many a laugh in Philosophy lessons, also sharing countless in jokes and annotating our philosophy white board with pictures of god knows what, Nietzsche, Snake, Slanty Shanty, oh lordy, what times! She also gives me raging hard ons.
ChangesThe moment was anything but perfect – Not that this required anything more than a hazy, careless thought to realise. Dante’s coat was barely enough to cover their naked bodies, and though Nero had taken to hugging his knees so to spare his feet from touching the omnipresent chill, his back was now exposed to the cool atmosphere, and regardless of how much he whined, threatened or seduced, there was nothing he could do to have Dante surrender more of his coat for protection.
Dante was in no better condition, though Nero had failed to notice this, choosing to focus more on whether he should venture into the coldness in order to reclaim his clothes. The Man in Red was far too proud to pull Nero closer so that the coat could cover them both, smirking in amusement over how the younger demon hunter was similar to him in that respect.
After the restoration of Fortuna was complete, Nero had found himself with naught to do except travel in the hopes of finding work that could challeng Wrapped in Glory: An InterludeThere it was again. That arrogant, belittling laugh of his. It rang in Nero’s ears as he positioned Yamato to strike, darting forward; ready to plunge the sword deep into the assassins’ gut, only to find himself falling face-first onto a bloody, sticky carpet. His senses, heightened by the demon that stalked him upon the use of Yamato, informed Nero that his nemesis had reclaimed his sword.
His reaction time was perhaps slowed by the surprise of his enemy’s simple yet effective counter. At least, that was the excuse Nero produced when he found Rebellion sink into the ground beside his head, trapped by the harsh metal. His cursed arm rose to strike with Yamato, only to have a boot crush the thought instantly, Nero’s ability to move incredibly limited. His breath came in harsh, quick pants, a fierce stare focused on the one who had reduced him to this vulnerable state, resenting his inferior swordsmanship.

LLARY LLAMA! Lara, my womb friend. I've been very close friends with her since, like, forever. We've been in a band together, we've been on ghost hunts, "camping" trips, many a trip to Alton Towers etc etc! She's awesome! Always knows how to cheer me up...and sells me alchohol. I love people who work in pubs. She's great at art and photography alike and I think you should all go and take a look and be like...Lara...you're ace. She's got great taste in music and films too! Yay for Lara...yay! Oo oo, also, she has a reeeeally creepy old house!




Liam! I only actually met him once, but I heard many many many a story about him via Steve and Dan/Slow/Donald/Whatever he calls himself these days. Liam's flash animations are fucking hilarious and really well done considering he was just a college student at the time! I'd like to see some of his recent stuff but his Metal Gear Roleplay animation still makes me giggle uncontrollably!




Lydia HASN'T put ANYTHING up so far, but she's been one of my best friends since high school so here she is!

Steph! One of my uni friends; very talented actor and photographer, and all round, awesome person! She's the organised one which is a good thing because my brain resembles pancake batter. Steph and I share a love of good comedy and can spend half a lecture quoting Father Ted and similar golden comedic nuggets! Oh these video james!




MATT DAAAAAAALE! You simply cannot refer to him in any other way. Great guy! Fun to hang out with, hilarious drunk, good taste in media and fucking brilliant actor! I had to spit in his face when we did A Clockwork Orange and he was Alex...I thought I'd share that with you...Check out his work, I used to love watching him draw just with biros straight onto paper; something which I CANNOT do!




Charles! I mean, Charl! Charl's ace, and we've had some proper good times in recent history! And hopefully many a drunken time up Man-Chest-ERRR still to come! People sometimes mistake her for Justin Beiber, but she's better than him. And she does a wicked Single Ladies dance. You should come watch her some time, I reckon we could make a bit of money out of this.




Kieran Shmieran! My boyfiend and grand leader of ! He may wind me up to the point of implosion, but I love him very much, and he puts up with me all the same so I wouldn't change him for the world! Ok, maybe I'd have his old hair back, but there's still time! He also taught me a thing or two about Paintshop and if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be at the stage I am today in terms of editing my work. He also does animation. You should all look forward to the day he finally uploads one of his finished pieces!




Mary! I met her through Kieran, as she's been a close friend of his for a long time. She's a lovely person who has brilliant taste in films, TV and knows how to throw a damn good party! I always seem to have a great time when we're drinking together and she's one of those people who always seem to have a camera on them, so that's handy! I love her paintings, go have a looksy!
